Pulitzer Winning “Dinner With Friends” Opens At Milburn Stone

The 2012-13 schedule for Milburn Stone Theater was ambitious from the moment it was announced, and tonight's opening of "Dinner with Friends" adds a Pulitzer Prize-winning drama to the lineup. "We really wanted to do an intense, realistic four-person drama and this was perfect," said director Marshall B. Garrett.

Milburn Stone draws on a strong cast of local veteran actors; Melanie Bishop as Karen, Karen Decker as Beth, Dr. John Mulvey as Tom and Mike Ware as Gabe. "We really think this play highlights skills of our cast and crew, especially the actors who are hitting their middle-age and really hitting their stride in dramatic acting," said Garrett.

Each actor embraces their role and you will be pulled in, hating or loving each of them as the play progresses. It is a deep examination of the intermingled feeings and lives of the two married couples portrayed by the four. "We hope our audience takes away that you can't base your relationship and marriage off the success or failure of the relationship of your friends," said Garrett.

The show runs runs on the following dates/times, starting tonight: September 14, 15, 21, & 22 @ 8PM, September 16 & 23 @ 3PM. As an added bonus, you get a glass of wine to enjoy as you take in the show.
